The DS Action Diver Chrono combines the diving specs of the DS Action Diver with a chronograph function. Like every other Certina watch with DS in its name, it is an extremely water resistant watch, in this case up to 300 metres (compliant with ISO 6425 dive watch specifications). This latest addition to the DS Action series consists of three watches; a blue and black dial model with a stainless steel bracelet, and a sand-coloured dial with black and golden accents and matching strap made from upcycled plastic (#tide ocean material). The design of the watch is partly based on the 43 mm DS Action Diver and some elements of the DS-2 chronograph with its solid crown guards and a 60 minute unidirectional bezel with ceramic insert. The sturdy DS case features a sporty brushed finish with polished touches on the crown, pushers and of course caseback with turtle logo. While the Certina DS Action Diver Chrono is indebted to the brand’s 1950s tool watches, its retro vibes are kept to a minimum with symmetrical horizontally aligned counters, and a small seconds dial at 9 o’clock. The DS Action Diver Chrono is powered by an ETA A05.231 automatic chronograph movement which is fitted with an anti-magnetic silicon hairspring and has a power reserve of 68 hours, making this not just a functional diving chronograph as well as a stylish companion.
